Director & co-writer of the play Wanted (produced by Gazebo Theatre) tells the hidden stories of trailblazing women. In this episode we spend time learning about Olive Morris, a British-Jamaican woman, member of the Black Panthers, and an activist for women’s and squatter’s rights, and Tonia’s reasons for writing about her.

In her energetic and passionate manner, Tonia also sheds some light on the lives of Irena Sendler, who rescued more than 2,500 children from the Warsaw ghetto during the Nazi occupation, Phoolan Devi, the fearsome Bandit Queen, and  Dr James Barry, a woman way ahead of her time.

Tonya’s co-writers are Therese Collins and Pamela Cole-Hudson. The play is on tour around the UK between 1st – 27th March. Learn more here: https://gazebotheatrewanted.mailchimpsites.com/
