The Art of Diplomatic Discourse -Managing Difficult Conversations
Clashes in the workplace can happen frequently. Unfortunately, many are ill-equipped to work through difficult conversations aptly. The Art of Diplomatic Discourse a variety of tools and techniques to help when challenging conversations present themselves. Learners are given plenty of opportunities to practice the tools taught to embody the lessons before incidents arise.
This course covers:
- Difficult Dialogues Mastery System.
- The benefits and pitfalls.
- Types of difficult conversations and why they arise.
- Mastering internal dialogue.
- Self-care post-discussion
This training workshop permits learners to get things wrong in a safe environment, learn new approaches and ways of thinking and practise different methods to tackle conflict, especially those associated with race, gender, immigration, culture and other forms of identity. The outcome is that participants feel more competent and confident to engage in difficult conversations.
Overview
Aim: To equip participants with new knowledge, tools and experience to tackle difficult conversations associated with identity.
Objectives: By the end of the workshop, participants will have learned:
- About the internal dialogue that occurs when in a difficult conversation.
- The Difficult Dialogues Mastery System which exposes learners to different methods of managing difficult conversations.
- Different types of difficult conversations and been exposed to examples.
- Effective communication techniques.
- A variety of ways to manage difficult conversations through practical application.
The session is delivered using creative exercises, discussions, and presentations.
